Daily Lottery
The Lottery Manager in Prontera takes zeny bets for the daily draw, and Poring Coin Trader items for a personal roll.
Betting adds your zeny to one shared pot, that pot gains 20%, and the winners are paid in items.
Rolling takes Poring Coin Trader items from your inventory, that value loses 20%, and you get other items back.
Location
The Lottery Manager is at prontera 164/170.
What a share buys
Each share buys items from the Poring Coin Trader. The script picks one of those items at random, then another, and so on. The same item can come up again.
An item's value is:
trader zeny + coin price × Poring Coins that item asks for
The coin price is the higher of 5 000z and the average sale price of Poring Coin over the last 7 days. The average uses only Poring Coins that were sold from vending shops, weighted by how many were sold. Buying stores are not counted. If none were sold, the average is 0 and the price stays at 5 000z.
Before the split, the whole bet pot is increased by 20%. A 1 000 000z pot buys 1 200 000z of items.
The daily draw pays each item at the value above. The NPC keeps drawing from the full prize list for as long as the pot is not negative. A pot of exactly 0z is not negative, so it draws one more item. The item that makes the pot go below 0z is still given, and then the draw stops.
At a 5 000z coin, a Blessing Scroll (3 000z and 3 coins) costs 3 000 + 5 000 × 3 = 18 000z.
Bubble Gum (1 000 000z and 1 000 coins) costs 1 000 000 + 5 000 × 1 000 = 6 000 000z. Field Manual 100% (50 000z and 50 coins) costs 50 000 + 5 000 × 50 = 300 000z. A 6 300 000z share can come out like this:
- First draw: Bubble Gum. 6 300 000z − 6 000 000z = 300 000z left.
- Second draw: Field Manual 100%. 300 000z − 300 000z = 0z left.
- The pot is 0z, so the NPC draws any item from the full list. The pot goes below 0z, and the draw stops.
Prizes are mailed by Lottery. A big prize arrives in several mails titled Lottery 1st (1/N), Lottery 2nd (1/N), or Lottery 3rd (1/N).
Place a bet
The pot starts at 0 before each draw. Bet any amount of zeny. A later bet adds to the same stake. Each zeny is one chance.
The draw is at 8:00 PM. Up to 3 different people are drawn. 2nd and 3rd are drawn the same way, from the people still left.
| Place | Share of the pot |
|---|---|
| 1st | 60% |
| 2nd | 30% |
| 3rd | 10% |
The percentages below are of the pot after the 20% is added.
- One bettor receives the whole pot. A 1 000 000z pot buys 1 200 000z of items.
- Two bettors: 1st takes 66.67%, and 2nd receives the rest (33.33%). Zeny is whole, so a 1 000 000z pot becomes 1 200 000z and pays 800 000z and 400 000z.
- Three or more: 60% / 30% / 10%. Zeny left by rounding goes to 1st. A 1 000 000z pot becomes 1 200 000z and pays 720 000z / 360 000z / 120 000z. A 1 000 001z pot becomes 1 200 001z and pays 720 001z / 360 000z / 120 000z.
Your chance to win is the chance you are paid, as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
- With 3 bettors or fewer, everyone who bet is paid, so that chance is 100%.
- With 4 or more, it is the chance your stake is drawn into one of the three paid places.
The places themselves still follow the stake. On a 1 101 000z pot split 1 000 000 / 100 000 / 1 000, all three are paid, and the ranks come out like this:
| Stake | 1st | 2nd | 3rd |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 000 000z | 90.83% | 9.16% | 0.017% |
| 100 000z | 9.08% | 89.94% | 0.98% |
| 1 000z | 0.09% | 0.91% | 99.00% |
Roll your items
Roll is separate from the bet pot.
- Choose one or more items from the Poring Coin Trader list. They must be in your inventory.
- Those items keep the value stated above.
- The roll pot is that whole value minus 20%.
- The NPC then draws prizes at random. Each prize costs the list price.
- After every prize, anything that would drop the roll pot below 0 leaves the list. The same item can be drawn again while it still fits.
- The roll stops when that list is empty.
A roll pot below the cheapest item takes nothing, and your items stay with you.
At a 5 000z coin, the cheapest item costs 18 000z. One Blessing Scroll is worth 18 000z, so its roll pot is 14 400z and it cannot roll. Two of them are worth 36 000z, so the roll pot is 28 800z and buys one prize. The 10 800z left over is not returned.
If your inventory cannot hold the whole prize, or it is too heavy, nothing is placed in your inventory. The whole prize is mailed instead.
