Client Improvements

NexusRO ships its own patched client built on the 2026-02-19 Ragexe. The patches below are included in the official download and applied automatically by the patcher: there is nothing to install or configure.

Warning

Client modifications of any kind are prohibited. GRF modifications are only allowed for map textures. See the GRF Policy page for the full rule. Everything on this page is part of the official client.

Graphics & Display

  • DirectX 9 renderer with native 4K resolution support and smoother framerates on modern GPUs.
  • Borderless fullscreen: when the game resolution matches your screen, the window frame disappears for a seamless fullscreen that alt-tabs instantly. The window also has the normal Minimize / Maximize / Close buttons.
  • Resizable window: drag the window edge to any size, from and to any resolution. The game keeps the same number of pixels while you resize.
  • Clean 4K upscaling: the full client ships an UI upscaling folder with Magpie.exe. It upscales the game window to 4K without blurring the interface.
  • Zoom out much further than the official presets.
  • No more black squares when zoomed out: the view distance was pushed back, so ground and buildings keep drawing at any zoom level.
  • No fade in / fade out: teleports, warps and @refresh are instant, with no black screen in between.
  • Store and the skill window no longer drop your FPS in crowded vending areas or with Alt+S open.

Movement & Combat Responsiveness

  • No walk delay: every click moves you immediately. Holding the left button walks at a steady pace instead of spamming the server.
  • Click much further away: the path finder can plan routes of up to 96 cells and clicking past a building now finds a way around.
  • Instant retarget: clicking a different monster attacks it right away.

Information on Screen

  • In-world HP / SP bars with /showhp and /showsp, above your party members and above your own character.
  • Decimal ASPD in the Alt+A window (e.g. 188.6 instead of 188), and MATK shown as a range (100~150).
  • 63-bit Zeny: the client displays amounts above the old 2 147 483 647 zeny limit.

Interface & Quality of Life

  • Friends list raised to 127 friends.
  • Case-insensitive search in the storage and Cash Shop windows ("blue gem" finds "Blue Gem").
  • Item sorting in the inventory, cart and storage.
  • Replay button available on the service select screen.
  • /grf <GrfName> switches GRF in-game, with no restart. Only GRFs that change maps are allowed. See the GRF Policy.

UTF-8 Chat

The client supports UTF-8 in chat. You can use:

  • Symbols such as ♡
  • Accented Latin (for example Español, Português, Français)
  • Hangul (한국어), Japanese (日本語), Thai (ไทย)
  • Simplified Chinese (简体中文) and Traditional Chinese (繁體中文)

This applies to public chat, whispers, party/guild chat, and the channels (#main, #trade, #party, #map). Character names and guild names are still restricted to the usual ASCII letters and digits.
