Hunting Missions
The Hunting Missions NPC offers daily kill missions with different difficulties. Complete missions to earn Hunting Medal Badges, EXP, and Zeny.
NPC Location
Hunting Missions is located at Prontera (164, 175).
How It Works
- Talk to the Hunting Missions NPC and choose a difficulty.
- You receive a mission to kill 4 randomly selected monsters. Each target gets its own random kill count (40 to 80 for solo missions, 120 to 180 each for Party missions).
- Kill the targets, then return to the NPC to collect your rewards.
- You can complete up to 3 missions per day (resets at midnight).
Difficulty Levels
Each difficulty draws monsters from different level ranges. The mix below shows how many monsters are drawn from each tier per mission:
| Difficulty | Easy monsters (Lv 1–30) | Medium monsters (Lv 31–63) | Hard monsters (Lv 64+) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 4 | 0 | 0 |
| Medium | 1 | 3 | 0 |
| Hard | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Party | 0 | 0 | 4 |
The Party difficulty is a separate co-op mode. See Party Missions
Rewards
Rewards are calculated per monster and summed across all 4 targets.
| Reward | Formula |
|---|---|
| Hunting Medal Badges | Sum of individual badge rewards per monster (see table below) |
| Base EXP | Sum of all 4 monsters' base EXP × kill count (at server rate) |
| Job EXP | Sum of all 4 monsters' job EXP × kill count (at server rate) |
| Zeny | sum of all 4 kill counts × average_monster_level × 30 |
Badge reward per monster:
| Tier | Monster Level | Badges |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | Lv 1–30 | 10–15 (scaled by level) |
| Medium | Lv 31–63 | 16–30 (scaled by level) |
| Hard | Lv 64+ | 31–50 (scaled by level) |
EXP rewards are capped at 200% of your current level EXP.
Mission Shop
Spend your Hunting Medal Badges at the Mission Shop (accessible through the NPC):
| Item | Cost (Badges) |
|---|---|
| Bundle of Magic Scroll | 10 |
| First Aid Kit | 20 |
| Branch of Dead Tree | 30 |
| Set of Taming Items | 250 |
| Poring Box | 500 |
| Enriched Elunium | 1 500 |
| Enriched Oridecon | 1 500 |
Hunting Medal Badges are shared across all characters on the same account.
Party Support
Kills count for all party members who are:
- On the same map as the person who got the kill
- Within 30 cells of the kill
Account-Wide Progress
Mission progress is shared across all characters on the same account. You can start a mission on one character and continue it on another. Only one active mission per account at a time.
Abandoning a Mission
You can abandon your current mission for 50 000 Zeny. Abandoned missions do not count toward your daily limit.
Abandoning a Party Mission costs 100 000 Zeny instead.
If the Party Leader abandons the mission, it is also cancelled for all other party members who share the same mission.
Party Missions
The Party difficulty turns Hunting Missions into a co-op activity. The whole party shares one mission, one set of objectives, and one set of rewards.
Starting a Party Mission
To start a party mission, every member of the party must be:
- Online
- Within 20 cells of the Hunting Missions NPC
- Not already on a mission
When those conditions are met, the Party Leader talks to the Hunting Missions NPC and accepts the mission on behalf of the party. All party members are then assigned the same 4 target monsters drawn from the Party tier of the Monster Pool.
Kill Credit
For a party-mission kill to count toward your progress, all of the following must be true when the monster dies:
- You are in a party.
- At least 4 members of that party are within 30 cells of the kill.
The nearby party members do not need to have the same mission. They only need to be present to validate the kill. Monsters killed by anyone, as long as 4 party members are within range, count toward your own total.
If fewer than 4 party members are within 30 cells when the monster dies, the kill is not counted and you receive a notification in chat.
Party Size for Rewards
Your reward "party size" (N) is not the number of people in your party. It is the average number of party members within 30 cells across all of your credited kills during the mission.
- Each time a kill is credited to you, the game counts how many of your party members are within 30 cells at that moment.
Nis the average of those per-kill counts, rounded to the nearest whole number.- Example: you score 3 credited kills. On the first, 4 members are nearby; on the second, 8; on the third, 12. Your
N= round((4 + 8 + 12) / 3) = 8.
Because the average is recalculated across all your kills, N reflects how consistently your party hunted together, not just your best or worst moment. Every party member can end the mission with a different N, depending on how many teammates were nearby for each of their kills. The party-size number drives both the +1% per member bonus and the EXP split below.
Rewards
All party members receive the same objectives. Party rewards are adjusted from the solo values using your reward party size (N below):
| Reward | Party adjustment |
|---|---|
| Hunting Medal Badges | Reduced by 25%, then +1% per party member (+N%) |
| Zeny | Reduced by 70%, then +1% per party member (+N%) |
| Base / Job EXP | Split N ways, then +1% per party member (+N%, no reduction) |
- The +1% per member bonus (
+N%) applies to all rewards. It is calculated after the reduction and the EXP split. - EXP is not reduced, but the mission's total EXP is divided by
N, so a larger reward party size shrinks each member's EXP share. - Because
Nis per-player, two members of the same party can receive different Badge, Zeny, and EXP amounts.
Example (player with reward party size N = 12):
- Badges:
solo_badges x 0.75 x 1.12 - Zeny:
solo_zeny x 0.30 x 1.12 - EXP:
solo_exp / 12 x 1.12
Adjusted Levels
In party missions only, the target monsters use a rescaled level instead of their normal level. This narrows the level gap across the pool (the weakest monsters are bumped up and the strongest are pulled down) so a party always faces a comparable challenge.
- 6 monsters are fixed at level 100: Cecil Damon, Howard Alt-Eisen, Eremes Guile, Margaretha Sorin, Seyren Windsor, and Kathryne Keyron. These are never rescaled.
- Every other party monster is rescaled with the formula below.
The rescale runs in two steps:
capped_raw = min( raw_level, 99 )
party_level = round( 81 + (capped_raw - 81) x 2 / 3 )
- Cap the raw level at 99. Any monster whose normal level is above 99 is treated as level 99 before rescaling.
- Pull toward the average. Each monster is moved two-thirds of the way from its capped raw level toward 81, the average capped raw level of the rescaled monsters (the 6 fixed level-100 monsters are excluded from this average).
This produces party-mission levels ranging from 70 to 93.
The resulting Party Lv for every monster is listed in the 🟣 Party tier of the Monster Pool.
Giant Fly Wings
When the Party Leader accepts a party mission, they receive 8 Giant Fly Wings automatically. These wings warp the whole party to a random spot on the current map, helping you regroup between fights.
- Wings are given only to the Party Leader, and only they can use them.
- They are granted only once per mission cycle: abandoning the mission and retaking it does not give a new set of wings. A fresh batch is granted again the next time you start a new mission after completing one.
- Wings can only be used on a map where at least one of your 4 mission target monsters spawns. Trying to use one anywhere else will not consume the wing.
- Any wings still in your inventory are automatically removed when you complete the mission, so the next mission always starts with a fresh count of 8.
Resetting & Leaving
- If a mission doesn't suit your party, you can reset it for 100 000 Zeny.
- Leaving your party does not cancel your mission. You may rejoin the same party or join a different one and continue your progress. The other party members are not required to be on the same mission.
- Party missions do not expire.
